Leaders, family members, and mourners gathered this morning at the Orthodox Church in Namungoona, Kampala, for a solemn funeral service honoring the late Kalangala District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Helen Nakimuli.
The church was filled with grief and tribute as speakers remembered Nakimuli as a calm yet resolute voice who consistently stood against injustice and championed the rights of her constituents. Clergy led prayers and reflections, emphasizing her dedication to public service, humility, and commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities.
Colleagues in Parliament described her passing as a significant loss not only to Kalangala District but to the entire nation. “She spoke with quiet strength, but her impact was powerful and far-reaching,” one leader noted during the service.
Following the церemония in Namungoona, the body of the late legislator was transported to Luweero District for burial, where hundreds more mourners are expected to pay their last respects.

MHon. Nakimuli’s death marks the end of a distinguished chapter of leadership defined by integrity, advocacy, and service. As Uganda mourns, many have called for the preservation of her legacy through continued commitment to justice and community development.
